Sunray Man Dead In One Vehicle Rollover Crash

A Sunray man died Thursday morning around 10:25 in Sherman County. 53 year-old Edward Metzig was driving south on Farm-to-Market road 119 when he failed to stay in a single lane and veered off the west side of the road. Metzig overcorrected which caused his 1995 Ford Explorer to travel back across the roadway, where it entered the east side ditch and rolled over. The SUV came to rest on it’s roof facing west. Mr. Metzig was pronounced deceased on the scene by Sherman County Justice of the Peace Brenda Acker. The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
