Streetscape Amarillo

Local businesses in Downtown Amarillo will have a say in what Polk Street looks like.

The ultimate goal is to make 10th Avenue to 3rd Avenue walkable by evening out the sidewalks and making them easier to navigate.

Some of the sidewalk slabs have buckled or are severely cracked.

A bond was approved in 2016 for the improvements to be made and the plan is already in the city budget.

So far, there is no official start or end for the construction project, but some blocks have undergone renovation..

Construction is planned in phases so business disruption is minimized
