State Employees Recognized For Their Service At Annual Ceremony

The 27th annual Texans Caring for Texans state employee recognition ceremony was held Thursday, August 4th.

The event took place in the Fine Arts Complex on the campus of West Texas A&M University, and more than 50 employees from 13 different state agencies were honored.

We spoke with Lori Martin, the co-chair of Texans Caring for Texans, about what makes the day so special.

We also had a chance to talk with the deputy executive commissioner of the access and eligibility services department within Texas Health and Human Services Wayne Salter, about why he feels occasions like this are necessary.
