Spill At Hollywood Road Wastewater Treatment Facility

Another wastewater spill at a troubled city treatment facility.

The Hollywood Road wastewater treatment facility experienced a spill Wednesday around 7pm. That spill has been contained.

That same facility has struggled to return to operating at full capacity since the flooding late May and early June of this year. Assistant City Manager, Floyd Hartman said recently extensive repairs are needed to bring the Hollywood Road site back up to full capacity.

This discharge was created by flow and organics loading overburdening the system, causing 275,000 gallons of partially treated wastewater to runoff into Playa Lake 40.
