Speed Factor In Motorcycle Fatality

A motorcycle crash has claimed the life of a local man.
Amarillo Police Department, Officers were called to a crash involving a motorcycle in a parking lot in the 4500 block of South Washington Street at 11:58 a.m.
60-year-old Kenneth Ray Morris was eastbound on Southwest 46th Street going towards Washington when he turned into a parking lot
Morris then drove through the area at a high rate of speed and performed a wheelie and then lost control of the Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle and struck a wooden utility pole.
Kenneth Morris died at the scene due to injuries suffered from the crash and he was wearing a helmet at the time.
The incident is being handled by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
