Situational Awareness

With summer coming on, children will be roaming freely outside, some without adult supervision.

The Bridge Children Advocacy Center is reminding families about situational awareness and how to, prepare children just for those situations.

The Bridge says many perpetrators are looking for kids who are isolated or just not paying attention

They’re stressing having children go to the malls or pools in a group and it’s important they’re paying attention and not on their phones.

If your child is caught in one of these situations, teach them to be loud, make a lot of noise, and even scream if they have to.

The Center says these situations can happen to anyone and can be prevented by being aware at all times.
