Sheriffs Deputy Scam Warning

A new scam has been reported in the area, with phone calls claiming to be a Randall County Deputy.

The caller will find ways to extort money from victims, and thanks to phone “spoofing,” the number can look like the genuine sheriff’s office.

Officials will never ask for money over the phone, and will never ask for gift cards as an acceptable means to pay for a warrant.

If you question the validity of a phone call, get as much of their information as you can without sharing your own details, hang up and call the Randall County Sheriffs’ Office, to cross-check the information you were given.

Warrants are not handled over the phone, and police will escort you to the jail to take care of any warranty issues.
