Rollover Fatal In Claude

A rollover crash in Claude claimed the life of a Howardwick man on Sunday.

The wreck happened at 6:35 a.m. when 26-year-old Jordan Chavira, driving east U.S 287 when his car took off from the roadway and into the center median.

DPS says the man tried to get back onto the road but over-corrected. the car traveled back onto the road, and flipped over several times, coming to a rest upside down in a ditch.

Chavira was thrown from the car and pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
