Rogers Withdraws Hand Marked Ballot Resolution

Potter County GOP Chair Dan Rogers has withdrawn his resolution to have hand-marked ballots.

The county refused to vote on the issue on Monday, which would allow the county GOP to perform a primary election with hand marked ballots, and because the Commissioners Court has chosen to remain in the voting Center Program, early voting must be electronic by law.

Rogers withdrew the proposal because he and the Republican GOP think it would cause confusion in future races both primary and election races.

He says the commitment to hand-marked ballots will continue and they stand that an electronic vote is nothing more than an evidence of a vote , rather than an actual paper ballot.

Rogers also points out that hand-marked ballots are more accurate in counting, more cost-effective, reliable and secure against fraud.

He says the Commissioners stand clearly shows they are choosing “coders over voters”.
