River ISD President Earns Leadership Certificate

River Road Independent School District’s Board of Trustees President Amanda Brown is being presented with a graduation certificate for completing the Texas Association of School Boards Leadership program.

She earned the Master Trustee on July 1. The TASB Class was made up of 36 school board members representing Texas districts ranging of all sizes and property wealth and met alongside the Association’s Summer leadership Institute in Fort Worth.

The attendees received training in effective board governance, heard addresses from educational experts, and were given different ideas including district showcases and networking opportunities.

Participants made presentations of their team findings after year-long research focused on critical issues and impacts on Texas public education. Brown is among more than 900 school board members in the state who are now Texas Leadership alumni.
