It’s time to take a look at those in October who rose above the rest. ‘
Mrs. Bairds Teachers on the Rise program takes student submissions and nominates teachers who stand out and who made a difference in their school life.
One of October’s winners came from Highland Park High School for James Capes, who teaches music.
The student who wrote his nomination, Cameron Parrack, said she was able to relate to his teaching style.
After the surprise announcement in the school’s cafeteria, James spoke about how he felt humbled and felt an assurance that it was all worthwhile.
The other winners from October were Amy Worsham from Olsen Park Elementary and Steffany Ward from Gruver Jr. High.
