Region 16 Teachers Of the Year
Region 16 Education Service Center announced the 2025 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year.
The Elementary Teacher of the Year is Kristi Leff from Amarillo ISD, and the Secondary Teacher of the Year is Christian Hernandez-Ocasio from Highland Park ISD., as awarded by the Texas Association of School Administrators,
The program annually recognizes and awards teachers who exhibit exceptional leadership and teaching excellence.
Each fall, 40 teachers are selected as Regional Teachers of the Year in Texas, with one elementary and one secondary teacher chosen from each of the 20 education service center regions. Officials also said that this year’s winners will represent Region 16 at the state level, competing for the prestigious title of 2025 Texas Teachers of the Year, to be announced at a ceremony on Oct. 25.
