Record Weekend Travel-Rick Husband Airport

The Memorial Day holiday will see a record number of travelers at bus depots, train stations, and airports.

Rick Husband Airport in Amarillo is no exception.

The Transportation Safety Administration says it’s ready for the estimated 2.6 million travelers nationwide, over the weekend.

Airlines at Rick Husband will be busy on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are expected to be busy, but during Saturday and Sunday, to travelers, it will look like more normal traffic.

TSA has a few tips for air travelers, especially in the morning at least two hours early, and if you have a problem with your airline, contact the carrier.

Because of the expected added traffic, Rick Husband has added extra staffers to keep checkpoint lanes open and extra equipment to screen checked baggage all weekend.
