Hunter Pence homered and drove in three runs, while Logan Forsythe added a solo shot for Texas, which jumped out to a 10-1 lead. Starter Shelby Miller picked up his first win since 2017. Shawn Kelley got the final out for the save to rescue closer José Leclerc, who could not make it through the ninth.

Minor Will Start Tonight In Oakland

(Oakland, CA) — Left-hander Mike Minor will start for the Rangers tonight against the Athletics in Oakland. Minor threw his first career shutout in his prior start, beating the Angels behind a three-hitter. He has allowed two runs and 13 hits over 23 innings in his last three starts.

Astros Return Home Tonight

Trail Blazers Charge Past Thunder

(Oklahoma City, OK) — CJ McCollum scored 27 points to lead the Trail Blazers to a 111-98 victory over the Thunder in Oklahoma. Damian Lillard flirted with a double-double adding 24 points and eight assists for Portland, leaving them one game away from round two of the Western Conference playoffs. Paul George had a double-double with a game-high 32 points and 10 boards for Oklahoma City in the loss. Dennis Schroder put up 17 points off the bench for the Thunder, who are in a win-or-go-home situation tomorrow for Game Five in Portland.

Rockets Going For Sweep Tonight

Stars Home Tonight, One Win Away From Advancing

(Dallas, TX) — The Stars can advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs tonight with a win over the Predators in Dallas. The Stars took a 3-to-2 lead in the series with a 5-3 victory Saturday in Nashville. Ben Bishop made 30 saves in the victory. If the Predators win, a decisive Game Seven would be Wednesday in Nashville. The winner of the series will play the St. Louis Blues in the next round.

Pan Wins RBC Heritage

Dustin Johnson’s back-nine meltdown opened the door for Taiwan’s C.T. Pan to win the RBC Heritage by one stroke over Matt Kuchar for
his first PGA Tour victory. The top-ranked Johnson opened the final round with a one-shot lead but couldn’t hold on as he carded three
straight bogeys on Nos. 11-13 before a pair of double bogeys on Nos. 14 and 15. Johnson shot a 77 as did Ryan Palmer to finish tied for 28th.

Cowboys Won’t Have Pick Thursday

(Frisco, TX) — The NFL draft will start on Thursday, but the Cowboys are one of four teams without a first-round pick. Dallas sent its top pick to the Raiders for wide receiver Amari Cooper last season. Unless they make a trade to move up, the Cowboys will wait until 57 players come off the board before they make a selection.

(Houston, TX) — The Texans will draft 20th overall in the first round of the NFL draft, which begins Thursday. Houston has two second-round picks, 54th and 55th overall. Their pressing need is the offensive line and running back.

TCU Lands Blue-Chip Basketball Transfer

(Fort Worth, TX) — Tennessee-Chattanooga forward Kevin Easley announced on Twitter he is coming to TCU. The 6-foot-6 forward was the Southern Conference freshman of the year, averaging 14.2 points and 6.7 rebounds last season. He will have to sit out coming season before becoming eligible.

FC Dallas Welcomes San Jose on Saturday

(Frisco, TX) — FC Dallas will return home Saturday to meet San Jose at Toyota Stadium. Dallas is coming off a 2-1 win in Atlanta and is fourth in the West with 16 points in eight matches. San Jose is ninth with six points in seven games.
