Randall County Jail Expansion

A groundbreaking for expansion of the Randall County Jail Takes place on Tuesday August 8th.

The expansion will add 96 beds, expanding the 454 beds the jail currently has, and should be complete in 14 months.

The expansion is to relieve overcrowding of the current facility of inmates, and will allow more job opportunities within the Sheriff’s Office, and the court will recess after the Agenda’s final item and reconvene in Amarillo on the north side of the Randall County Jail at 9100 South Georgia Street

The groundbreaking ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Commissioner’s Court scheduled in Canyon.
