Project Celebration Awards Local Schools For PSA Submissions

High School Students in the area recently participated in a Public Service Announcement Competition.

Project Celebration is an effort put together by the Texas Department of Transportation to educate students about the dangers of impaired driving and to support safe and alcohol-free events.

Through Project celebration, TxDOT is able to award mini-grants to support alcohol-free events like prom or graduation activities.

In the Amarillo District, which covers the top 17 counties in the panhandle, Tascosa High School won first place with their PSA submission and received $2,000.

Their PSA was then entered into a state-wide competition and is featured on TxDOT’s Social Media.

Palo Duro High School came in second and received $1,500, and Groom High School received $1,250 for third place.

Other local participating schools received $750.
