Shooting Investigation
Three men accused of a downtown Amarillo shooting have been indicted by a Potter County Grand Jury.
Kuol Wek Deng Akol, Kual Makuc, and Alau Akot Maduak were indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and deadly conduct, for the September 10, 2023 incident at the corner of Polk and SE 7th.
Video from a nearby business shows the suspects firing weapons across the intersection.
A man and a woman were shot.
One of them was taken to the hospital via a private vehicle, while police administered CPR on the other; both victims survived.
After the shooting, both suspects left the scene in a Dodge Nitro, which was later found in Cactus, Texas.
Police say they found 25 shell casings from multiple guns at the scene.
