Potter County Bans Use of Fireworks Through Severe Drought

An emergency meeting was held on the 31st of May to discuss the current drought situation, and Potter County has Joined Randall in banning fireworks.

On top of usual restrictions on open flames, this burn ban additionally bans the sale, detonation, or use of fireworks.

Fires caused by fireworks are easily avoidable by not using them at all and are an unnecessary risk in severe drought conditions.

The use of fireworks during this ban is a Class C Misdemeanor.

The ban has the potential to be lifted, but only after a significant amount of rainfall has been measured.
