The City of Amarillo, Department of Public Health, and Animal Management and Welfare issued a news release Wednesday referencing the testing of sick and dead birds first noticed at the beginning of the month. In it, the release noted 12 of the 18 bird samples submitted tested "Non-Negative" for H5, highly suspecting the presence of highly pathogenic avian influenza. This creates any number of questions.
