Amarillo College issued a Press Release Wednesday noting an independent audit found no missing money, projects completed and paid for, but communication and oversight needed to be strengthened. So, why is it VP of Business Affairs Chris Sharp was placed on administrative leave Oct.3 of last year? Why 40 days between that action and a press release admitting to it and just days after Sharp resigned? It appears communication, and perhaps, board protocol was serious enough to warrant administrative leave, but placing the school in the crosshairs of a legal matter involving a board member and an apparent alcohol issue requires care and finess?
