Pentagon Approves 1,000 Troops To Help Vaccination Efforts

The Pentagon is approving one-thousand troops to assist with vaccination efforts across the U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin approved a request from FEMA today, which calls to deploy the active duty troops at some point this month.

The units will include nurses and medical staff from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

The first group is expected to arrive in California in the next ten days to assist with vaccination sites there.

This marks the latest effort by the federal government to reach President Biden’s goal of vaccinating 100-million Americans within the first 100 days of his administration.
