Panhandle Plains Historical Museum Exhibiting Positivity from WW2

The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum is opening up an exhibit Saturday, January 15th, called “Paradox in a Prisoner of War Camp.”

A part of local history that shouldn’t be forgotten, the exhibition details the life of Ann Cockrell Osburn, who worked in the POW camp southeast of Hereford in the 1940s.

Throughout her time working there, she befriended many Italian soldiers through art and writing.

She also worked in the hospital during WW2 and got to know the prisoners of war through working with doctors and military officials.
