Panhandle Economy Going Down Slower than Rest Of Texas

The Panhandle economy appears to be heading down, following the rest of the state, but not as fast.

Federal Reserve Bank officials say spending has slowed down since August, but the Panhandle area has a strong job market which makes it difficult for the government to slow down the economy.

They say jobs are a key part to economic growth and in Amarillo, as more jobs come in people are getting reassurance that there is a stable work environment and which they can go out while purchasing.

They point out the addition of Producers Owned Beef which has created thousands of jobs moving in and creating a strong workforce. Federal Reserve experts say the strong Panhandle labor market is going to make it harder to slow down the economy
