Panhandle Drug Bust

A joint law enforcement operation to address Amarillo’s increase in gang-related violent crime, on May 23 and 24th netted police over 18 arrests for on-view charges or arrest warrants.

DPS Highway Patrol Unit and units from APD conducted over 72 traffic stops in neighborhoods identified as high crime areas. 

APD Special Operations and the Department of Public Safety also conducted three search warrants for Randall and Potter County residences, within Amarillo city limits.

Officers seized five firearms, almost three pounds of methamphetamine, one pound of cocaine, and $14,100 of drug proceeds.
