P.R.E.P. Academy Makes Difference for the Homeless Community

The Amarillo Community Development Department has worked vigorously to solve the problem with the homeless population in Amarillo, whether through shelters or getting them back into the workforce.

P.R.E.P. Academy, standing for Peer Reintegration Employment Partnership, has been a fantastic addition that takes men and women from the Coming Home Program to work on a part-time basis.

Working with the Parks and Recreation Department in the past, the program will shift its focus to Center City and beautification projects around the surrounding buildings.

Community Development Director Jason Riddlespurger explains his plans to grow this program even more in the future.
