Over $200.000 Was Seized After Traffic Stop Near Vega

The Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than $289,000 in cash on January 15^th during a traffic stop.

Just before 6 pm, a DPS Trooper stopped at 2005 Lexus GS300 traveling west on I-40 near Vega.

During the stop, the troopers discovered 4 black tape-wrapped bundles of cash in an after marker compartment underneath the front seat bottoms.

DPS Special Agents were contacted and the driver was attested and booked into the Oldham County Jail for money laundering.

The money was being transported from Delaware to Arizona.
