One2teach Sees Success

A joint venture by West Texas A and M University and Amarillo College to keep future teachers in the Panhandle is meeting with success.

The One2teach program is for students in area high schools a chance to earn their teaching degree and save up to a year in college.

the program is a dual credit through AC and WT and is starting its first semester with many students wanting to enroll.

Both institutions insist this may be the answer to the teacher shortage in the Panhandle.

The program was designed to help not only recruit teachers but to also help them save time and money while earning their degrees.

One2Teach will continue to recruit students in the spring semester. If you are a student and interested in earning a degree in education, speak with a school councilor for more information.
