One Person Dead After Sunday Afternoon Accident

One person is dead after a two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle

At 9:11 p.m. Sunday night Amarillo police were called to Western Street and Hester Road on the reported accident.

52-year-old Jon Edward Phillips of Amarillo was riding his motorcycle southbound on Western.

A truck being driven by 19- year- old Page Dianna Ansaldo, turned southbound onto Western as well.

The motorcycle hit the back of the truck and Phillips died of his injuries at the hospital.

Ansaldo and a 19-year-old passenger in the truck were unharmed.

An autopsy has been ordered as the Amarillo Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Squad continues to work on this case
