One Dead, Three Injured After Wreck in Swisher County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a crash in Swisher County that left one dead and three others injured.

Officials say on January 8th at 4 am a Chrysler was heading westbound on State Highway 86 when it veered off the road and collided with a concrete barrier, causing the vehicle to vault into the air.

The car began to roll over frontwards, causing two teenage passengers who were unsecured to fly out.

Three of the individuals involved, the 16-year-old driver, a 16-year-old passenger, and another 19-year-old passenger, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

A 15-year-old passenger was also transported to the hospital where they later passed due to their injuries.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors involved, and charges are pending based on the outcome of the investigation.
