Amarillo Fire Department Fights Blaze On Northwest 14th
The Amarillo Fire Department was called Wednesday at 6:55pm to the 2000 block of Northwest 14th for a Structure Fire. Firefighters found a detached shed, garage and a travel trailer fully involved in fire, with debris between the structures contributing to the fire spread.
Burning embers from the main fire also ignited spot fires in lots to the north, prompting a second-alarm. Crews used multiple handlines and a deck gun to bring the fire under control. Second-alarm units were released once conditions stabilized, and firefighters remained on scene to complete overhaul operations. Two dogs were found deceased as a result of the fire. A third dog was found injured and received care at the scene. The occupant was able to get out with no injuries.
The Amarillo Fire Marshal’s Office has ruled the cause of the fire to be accidental.
