WT Announces $3 Million Gift
During a press conference Tuesday morning, WT announced a $3 million gift from the Prairie Thunder Foundation, which will provide scholarships and other funding for two high-profile programs at the University.
The newly renamed Prairie Thunder Band Program—encompassing the Sound of West Texas Marching Band and the Symphonic, Concert and University bands—will receive $2.5 million for scholarships, program funds and two professorships. The new Prairie Thunder Foundation Corporate Culture Experience program in the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business will offer students hands-on experiences outside the classroom.
