Show 6.17.26 Hour Two: Elected Leaders, Not Elected Reactionaries!
Why is it that those who run for offices – and in doing so, agree to LEAD – forget how to lead once elected? Why do they wait for citizens to call them out, in some cases over and over, before they choose to take action and lead? Why hasn’t the Potter County Commissioners Court made any effort to appease itself to the citizens of Potter County victimized by the Landfill Fire? Well, one commissioner tried, but it’s hard to be heard when three of the other four seats are occupied by non-participants simply counting down the days (two lost recent elections, one is not seeking reelection). The PCC has been asked over and over to add Public Comment to its agenda, something every other dais does. Why hasn’t the Landfill Fire been on an agenda to this point? It is listed for next Monday’s PCC meeting. MJ shares audio from the June 8 meeting during which some very interesting things were said.
