The ACT’s Community is opening a new senior center in downtown Amarillo at 816 S. Van Buren St. in the old YMCA Building.
The Christian Organization looks at problem-solving and the new expansion will help to go beyond their mission.
Seniors can come in and take a class, get a free meal, and do fun activities.
The ACTS Community has been working on the building for the past eight months and is opening to the public on May 5th.
The building is 50,000 square feet and will be renovated with activity rooms and an updated basketball court. The group has several projects planned for the building.
They’re having a Cinco de Mayo grand opening on May 5th, for anyone over the age of 60, and on May 15th the new community center will be open on weekdays.
