New First Responders Facility

Amarillo College recently received a building permit to start construction on its First Responders Building.

Fourteen million dollars in bond money is paying for the project.

The building will be located at the Sunset Center and was purchased by the college in 2019

The goal is to have first responder students learning and working together in the same place as they would be in a real situation.

New enhancements include fire towers, updated simulation facilities, and EMS, firefighters, and police training facilities.

The new building is located next to AmTech, and AC Is Coordinating with the school to help students with training and getting certificates.

The building is expected to be completed in 2024.
