New Engineering Professorship At W.T.

There’s a new professorship at West Texas A and M University College of Engineering.

The position will be filled by Dr. Anitha Subbura.

The McFather Professorship of Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics was established this year as part of the ongoing One West fundraising campaign and named in honor of Shane McFather, a WT graduate of 1987.

The 125-thousand dollar endowment was set up by Dr. Emily Hunt and her family.

The new professorship is meant to inspire under-represented groups like women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.

Subbura teaches electrical circuits, power systems, signals, and control systems, and he interests include renewable energy, control systems, and battery connected to grid applications.

The family made the gift to honor the tenth anniversary of McFather’s death
