Murder Suspect Arrested

One man is dead and another in the hospital after a shooting on Tuesday afternoon.
At 4:23 p.m. the Amarillo Police Department was called to the Americas Best Value Inn Motel on Interstate 40 East.
When officers arrived they found two men with gunshot wounds.
Laymon Johnson died at the scene and the other man was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
The suspect 33-year-old Eric Emmanuel Hernandez was found in a room of the motel.
He was arrested and booked into the Potter County Jail for Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
The case is still under investigation by the APD.
