Motorcycle Death

Forty-six-year-old Adam Cortez died Sunday as a result of a motorcycle crash in the 100 block of south Ross Street.

Cortez had been going north on Ross at a high rate of speed and struck a center median causing him to lose control of the bike.

He was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. Police say he was not wearing a helmet, and speed is the main factor in the crash.

The traffic division of the Amarillo Police is still investigating.
