A’s Win With Walk Off Walk Against Rangers

(Oakland, CA) — Khris Davis walked with the bases loaded to force home Marcus Semien with the winning run in the A’s 6-5 win over the Rangers in Oakland. Jose Leclerc working for the third consecutive day retired only one of six batters he faced in the ninth for a blown save and was charged with the loss. Danny Santana and Nomar Mazara hit solo shots in defeat. The Rangers had to settle for a four-game split of the series after winning the first two.

Rangers Return Home Tomorrow Night

(Arlington, TX) — The Rangers return home tomorrow night to meet the Mariners at Globe Life Park for a two-game series. Ariel Jurado will start the opener for Texas. Seattle will counter with Mike Leake, who beat the Rangers last week in Seattle. The Rangers did acquire minor league right-hander Ian Gibaut from the Rays for a player to be named. He has been assigned to Triple-A Nashville.

Astros Turn Back Cardinals

(St. Louis, MO) — Jose Altuve went 3-for-5 and belted a three-run homer as the Astros beat the Cardinals 6-2 to win the series in St. Louis. His fifth inning blast was his career 1,500th hit. George Springer, who contributed three hits, and Yordan Alvarez also homered for the Astros. Wade Miley pitched five scoreless inning to pick up his ninth win. Houston is 9-and-2 in its last 11 games.

(Canton, OH) — Cowboys vice president of personnel Gil Brandt will be enshrined Saturday into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio ceremonies. He has been a talent scout for the franchise since its inception in 1960, helping build a dominant franchise. He was responsible for building rosters that led the Cowboys to 20 consecutive winning seasons.

Texans Complete Fourth Day Of Camp

Koepka Wins WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational

(Memphis, TN) — Brooks Koepka is celebrating his first career World Golf Championships title after winning the FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Memphis. Koepka carded a five-under 65 in Sunday’s final round at TPC Southwind to finish at 16-under-par for the tournament. It’s his seventh career PGA Tour victory.

(Frisco, TX) — FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake played to a scoreless tie Saturday at Toyota Stadium. Hooker Loses Boxing Belt

(Arlington, TX) — Dallas boxer Maurice Hooker lost his share of the world junior welterweight title when he was stopped in the sixth round by undefeated California boxer Jose Ramirez on Saturday at College Park Center. It was Hooker’s first defeat in 30 fights. Ramirez leaves with the WBC and WBO 140-pound belts.
