Alex Bowman Wins Auto Club 400

(Fontana, CA) — Alex Bowman is going home with the second win of his career. Bowman opened a big lead on the field to take home the win at the Auto Club 400 in Fontana. Bowman picked up the first win of the season for Hendrick Motorsports. Kyle Busch finished in second while Kurt Busch took third. Chase Elliott and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top five. Jimmie Johnson finished in seventh in his final race in California. There was a five-wide salute to Johnson during the pace lap. The seven-time champion is retiring following the season.

Sungjae Im Wins Honda Classic For First Career Victory

(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) — Sungjae Im is celebrating his first career PGA Tour victory. Im fired a four-under 66 in Sunday’s final round to win The Honda Classic at PGA National. The 21-year-old finished the tournament at six-under-par to beat Mackenzie Hughes by one stroke. Tommy Fleetwood was third at four-under, while four others tied for fourth place at minus-three. Ryan Palmer finished even par in a tie for 17th.

Stars Return Home Tomorrow

(Dallas, TX) — The Stars are back on their home ice tomorrow night against Edmonton after a three-game trip. Dallas went 1-1-and-1 on the trek to Carolina, Boston and St. Louis. The Stars lost Saturday 4-3 to the Blues in a shootout.

Kluber Debuts; Rangers Win

(Glendale, AZ) — Corey Kluber allowed two runs and struck out four over three innings in his Cactus League debut in the Rangers’ 8-6 win over the Dodgers in Glendale. Joey Gallo, Isiah Kiner-Fafefa and Sam Huff homered for Texas. The Rangers will start Kyle Gibson today against the Indians at Surprise Stadium.

McCullers On Mound In Astros’ Win

Roughnecks Beat Renegades

(Arlington, TX) — The Houston Roughnecks beat the Dallas Renegades 27-20 in Arlington in XFL play. Landry Jones completed 25 of 38 passes for 205 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the loss. Dallas dropped to 2-and-2.

College Basketball Roundup

(Undated) — In college basketball, tonight, number-two Baylor will try to rebound from a three-point loss Saturday at TCU when the Bears host number-21 Texas Tech. Texas will play tomorrow at Oklahoma after a 68-58 road win over the Red Raiders. SMU blew a 24-point lead yesterday in losing 66-62 to Wichita State at Moody Coliseum. The Mustangs go on the road Wednesday, playing at Central Florida. North Texas needed overtime to nip Western Kentucky 78-72 in Denton. Tomorrow, Texas-Arlington goes to Troy. The West Texas A&M Buffaloes are headed to the Lone Star Conference tournament in Frisco later this week as the #1 seed.
