(Dallas, TX) — Luka Doncic had 28 points, nine rebounds and six assists as the Mavericks rallied for a 102-101 victory over the Trail Blazers in Dallas. Tim Hardway Junior scored 24 points in his third game with the Mavericks. Dallas out scored Portland 24-9 in the final period to pull out its third win in four games. The Mavs play tonight in Houston.

Rockets Home Tonight Against Mavericks

Stars Continue Trip At Florida

(Sunrise, FL) — The Stars will play tomorrow night at the Florida Panthers. Dallas lost 3-2 Saturday at Arizona and is 0-1-and-1 to begin this five-game trip. The Stars will play Thursday at Tampa Bay and Saturday at Carolina before returning home next week. The Stars are sixth in the Western Conference with 61 points.

William Byron Claims 2019 Daytona 500 Pole

(Daytona Beach, FL) — Reigning NASCAR rookie of the Year William Byron will be starting the 2019 Daytona 500 up front. Byron claimed the pole during qualifying on Sunday. The Hendrick Motorsports driver will be joined up front in “The Great American Race” by teammate Alex Bowman. The 2019 Daytona 500 runs on Sunday.

Rangers Open Spring Training Tomorrow

(Surprise, Arizona) — Pitchers and catchers report tomorrow as the Rangers will begin spring training at their Surprise, Arizona complex. The first official workout will be Wednesday. Chris Woodward will be in his first year managing Texas. He replaces Jeff Banister, who was fired in September. The Rangers finished last season with a 67-and-95 record, while their 4.92 ERA ranked 28th in the majors.

Astros Open Spring Training This Week

(West Palm Beach, FL) — Pitchers and catchers will report Wednesday to the Astros’ complex in West Palm Beach. The first official spring training workout will be the next day. The Astros will have a new catcher with Robinson Chirinos signing as a free agent after hitting .222 last season with the Rangers. Houston won 103 games in 2018 and led the majors with a 3.11 ERA. The Astros were eliminated in the postseason in the ALCS by the Red Sox.

A’s Not Sure If Murray Coming To Spring Training

(Mesa, AZ) — Position players for the Oakland A’s report to spring training on Friday, but there is no word if reigning Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray will be with the team. Oakland drafted Murray in the first round of last year’s MLB Draft, but he has since entered the 2019 NFL Draft after starring on the gridiron for Oklahoma last fall. Multiple reports state Murray will attend the NFL Scouting Combine, which begins on February 26th.

Injuries Decimate Baylor Basketball Team

(Waco, TX) — Baylor played without senior guards Makai Makai, its leading scorer, and King McClure in the 70-63 loss Saturday to Big 12-front-runner Kansas State in Waco. Mason has a bruised foot and McClure a knee injury. The Bears have already lost forward Tristan Clark for the season with a knee injury. He topped the NCAA in field goal shooting percentage at the time of his injury. Baylor will host Oklahoma tonight.

(Undated) — In area college hoops over the weekend, TCU won 92-83 at Iowa State, Texas defeated West Virginia 75-53 and Texas A&M won 68-59 at Missouri. Tonight, TCU will host Kansas. Tomorrow, Kansas State will play UT in Austin and Texas A&M will host Georgia. On Thursday, Florida Atlanta will host North Texas and UT-Arlington will be at Arkansas State.

(Canyon, Texas) – The #22 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M had four players in double-figures on Saturday afternoon as they led by nine points after the first quarter and never looked back in a 93-57 Lone Star Conference win over the UT Permian Basin Falcons at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.

(Canyon, Texas) – Ryan Quaid went for 29 points and 10 rebounds as he became West Texas A&M’s all-time leader in games played as the No. 7 Buffs handled UT Permian Basin, 105-82, in front of 1,320 fans at the First United Bank Center on Saturday Afternoon. The senior also became third member of the 1,500-point club with a free throw in the first half.

Astros’ Springer Speaks At Woodlands Church

(The Woodlands, TX) — Until the Astros start spring training on Thursday, star outfielder George Springer is getting into a different kind of spirit. Springer was a surprise special guest speaker at Woodlands Church on Sunday. The 2017 World Series MVP joined Senior Pastor Kerry Shook for a series of eight services over the weekend. After the two men spoke, Springer shot T-shirts into the crowd.
