So, is it Columbus Day or Indigenous People’s Day. Over 100 cities in America have decided to recognize Indigenous People’s Day. Why? Partially because Columbus did not discover America, and never set foot in North America. The primary reason is the choice by many cities (and 8 states) to “honor Indigenous People and their rich history and cultural contributions.” Please click here to read more.
Also, Christopher Columbus was a rather horrible individual. For starters, let’s just say he was the OG of his era for human trafficking, using mostly women and children on the Caribbean Islands. He stole all their gold, and locked their men away into slavery. Nice guy, right?
The City of Dallas is now also recognizing Columbus Day. Where do you stand? Please take our KGNC Instapoll and let us know. And, thank you!
Should it be Columbus Day or Indigenous People's Day, or both?
