Texas A and M University students now have access to free and confidential mental health care app TELUS Health Student Support.
School officials say TELUS gives students 24/7 access to mental health help via telephone or chat and counseling appointments for short-term support via telephone or video.
Students can also request a limited number of repeat sessions with the same counselor if needed.
School officials say studies show that about 75 percent of students who are struggling with depression or anxiety are reluctant to get help, and they hope the app will make it easier for them to make the first step.
TELUS can be installed and set up with just a few short steps and allows students to connect with a professional counselor any time they want,
It’s available through Android or IOS. For more information go to WTAMU’s website, or call 806-651-2340.
