Taxpayers will be paying for just about half the cost of the recount ballots from the last Mayoral race.
Challenger Claudette Smith wanted the recount and placed a deposit of $4,500.
The vote tally on election night and after the recount showed Mayor Ginger Nelson won the top spot.
The financial tally was released on Wednesday. It also shows that Smith owes another $1,500 to cover expenses allowed by state law.
The taxpayer cost comes to $5,900 for the rest of the recount costs.
