Mayor Stanley Holds Press Conference To Address AEDC, RANGE Inquiry

Amarillo mayor Cole Stanley held a press conference Tuesday afternoon during which he offered some insight and update on where the council is in its inquiry into the AEDC, The RANGE and the wire transfer so much on the news of late.

Mayor Stanley said while this particular case – the transfer of $750,000 – may have been unlawful, it was not illegal. He added that the current council should have been notified about the transfer.

City internal auditor Uneill Gerber is conducting an audit of the parties in question and should have preliminary findings for the council in seven to 10 days according to Mayor Stanley.
