The City of Amarillo is paving the way in Texas with a large-scale project to bring broadband access throughout the city, bridging the digital divide among city residents.
It also marks the partnership between the private sector and local government with funding from the American Rescue Plan Act.
The internet is being provided by AT&T, which will lay fiber for homes, schools, apartments, and businesses.
The internet will be at no cost to citizens who qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program.
