Marcell Turner To Host Amarillo Walk/Run Event

An Amarillo Walk/Run event is coming up this Saturday, July 17th at Bones Hooks Park at 2000 North Hughes.

The event is being hosted by Marcell Turner and he’s trying to promote longevity and maintenance over a long period of time.

According to the American Heart Association, Black Americans have the most cases of high blood pressure in the world, and are disproportionately affected by heart disease, obesity and diabetes.

Turner, an African-American fitness industry professional believes there’s a lot of disparity within the black community concerning health, myths, promises, and beliefs and what he’s trying to do, is bridge that gap.”

There are no age limits or distance requirements on walking or running.

The Bones Hooks Walk Run will be held from 7:30 a.m. until noon.
