An Amarillo man will spend 60 years behind bars after assault with a deadly weapon.
23-year-old Fernando Adame Jr. forced his 16-year-old girlfriend’s vehicle off the road and flipped into a pasture, causing her to be thrown out of the car.
He was arrested on October 13, 2016 and was placed on 10 years probation on October 5, 2017.
Adame violated his community supervision multiple times with Amarillo Police Officers testifying that he was arrested for driving while intoxicated on March 6th.
Assistant District Attorney said he left the victim in the pasture to “die like a stray dog”.
Adame must serve 50% of the sentence before he will become eligible for parole.
