Man Sentenced To 25 Years After 2017 Murder

A man will serve 25 years in prison for a 2017 murder of an Amarillo man.

Kyle Monnet was found guilty of first-degree murder by a jury and sentenced to 25 years in prison.

He was arrested back in December 2017 for murdering Joshua Daniels.

Daniels was found at a home with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He later died of injuries after being transported to the hospital.

Anna Powers who is still awaiting trial is also being charged with murder.

Another suspect Christopher Yost faces murder charges that are also related to Daniels’s death.

He was recently arrested on March 16, 2021. The judge revoked his bond which was set at 500,000.
