A paralyzed man has decided to not let his injuries rule his life by planning to participate in 50 marathons. Peter Smorthit was just 19 when he lost the use of his legs after plummeting 20 feet in a 2011 work accident at a building site. Determined to turn his life around, the now 27-year-old vowed not to be beaten and has since traveled the world to compete in dozens of marathons on two wheels. Smorthit recently completed the world-famous Goodwood Motor Circuit for the marathon dressed as the Teletubby Laa-Laa to raise funds for Dog A.I.D., a charity that helps people with disabilities train their own pet dog to Assistance Dog level to help get their independence back.
