Man Arrested With Several Charges Along North Arthur

The Amarillo Police Department Proactive Criminal Enforcement Unit performed a traffic stop on the 6th after noon.

The vehicle was a 2000 Chevrolet Truck with a trailer attached and was stopped along the 1800 block of Arthur Street.

When officers walked up to the vehicle, the suspect initially lied about his name, and officers figured out his actual identity and found an outstanding warrant for probation violation.

He resisted arrest and fought officers until he was finally detained and arrested with 2 counts of aggravated assault on a public servant, failed to Identify Fugitive from Justice, Resisting Arrest, and his original warrant.

The Chevrolet was discovered to be stolen as well, so he was additionally charged with 2 counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle.

He is now booked into Potter County Detention Center.
